A bit about me
And how I became a Doula and photographer

Hi dear (future) father or mother. You probably ended up on my website because you are thinking about extra support during your pregnancy and the birth of your child or you are considering having valuable moments in your life as a (future) family captured in photos. Or maybe both. In doing so, you allow someone in very special and also vulnerable moments in your life. Then it is of course crucial that you find someone with whom you can feel completely at ease. That is why I would like to tell you a little more about myself.

Your birth-journey as a beautiful memory

My name is Sanne (1982): doula and photographer. As a doula I provide parents (to-be) emotional, physical and practical support during pregnancy, birth and in the first weeks as a new parent. Others experience me as a calm and positive person with trust in the capability of mothers. In 2014 our beautiful daughter was born and she made me a mother for the first time. Two years later her sweet brother was born. Although I knew as a little girl that I wanted to be a mother one day, I was quite anxious about the birth beforehand. But I dived into the birth process and how you can have a positive influence on it (for instance with breathing and relaxation techniques). Little by little, the fear was replaced by confidence and the birth went calmly and smoothly. I look back on this experience with a proud feeling and noticed that a pleasant birth-journey can give you so much energy and self-confidence. I wish every parent has such a pleasant start of parenthood!

Follow your heart

That's why I changed my life quite radically in 2019. I quit my job as a media researcher and started the doula-training and a photography education. A big step and of course that was scary, but I believe if you follow your heart, beautiful things will happen.

Practical and respectful

My approach is practical, respectful and dedicated. I am there for you and your potential (birth) partner, get to know you well and together we discover how I can support you best. My mission as a Doula is that you go into labor with a positive feeling and can look back on it with a good feeling afterwards, no matter how it went. Stories of New Life stands for the best possible start to this new chapter: both for you as a new parent and for your baby!

Photography

Besides being a doula, I also work as a (pregnancy-, birth- and newborn-) photographer because I love to capture this special time in a natural way: precious memories for the rest of your life! Having a doula background helps me to capture those moments that matter, quietly and almost invisible.
